IU set aside her money to donate in commemoration of her debut anniversary. However, IU made the donation using the name IUENA which is a combination of her name and the name of her fans who are familiarly called UENA.
The news was announced directly by EDAM Entertainment on Thursday September 8, 2025. "IU donated a total of 200 million KRW under the name IUENA, a combination of IU and her fandom UAENA," read a statement from EDAM Entertainment as seen by Allkpop.
The donation was divided equally among four organizations: the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities, Make-A-Wish Korea, Heart to Heart Foundation, and the Korea Senior Citizens Support Foundation. Each organization will receive 50 million KRW.
The contribution will support children with critical illnesses, people with disabilities, young adults preparing for independence, and seniors living alone. IU consistently donates on her debut anniversary, birthday, and other special occasions in the name of IUENA.
Earlier this year, he donated 200 million KRW to help with post-fire recovery efforts in the Gyeongsang region and improve the working conditions of firefighters. In May 2025, the Blueming singer donated 150 million KRW to celebrate Children's Day, followed by another 200 million KRW on his birthday to help vulnerable communities.
