An individual who caused a public uproar by allegedly revealing details about South Korean actor Lee Yi Kyung's private life has suddenly changed his statement. The person, identified as "A," admitted that his post was merely a "joke using AI" and posted an apology for his actions.

On October 22, 2025, A shared on his social media account, "I've been posting a lot of photos related to actor Lee Yi Kyung lately. It was just for fun at first, but I didn't expect it to get this much attention." He continued, "When I created the text and photos with AI, everything felt real.

I'm so sorry it ended up spreading like a malicious rumor." A explained that his actions stemmed from admiration as a fan that culminated in emotional involvement. "It started as a joke, but it felt so real that I felt guilty," he said. He also emphasized his readiness to accept responsibility for any consequences.

Claiming to be a German citizen, A apologized for his inarticulate language and asked for understanding to avoid any misunderstanding. Previously, on October 19, 2025, A uploaded a post titled "Revealing Lee Yi Kyung's True Face" on her personal blog.

She shared screenshots of purported messages and direct messages (DMs) with Lee Yi Kyung, sparking a stir in online communities and social media. The content spread quickly, sparking debate among netizens about its veracity.

However, just three days later, A admitted that the entire incident was simply AI-generated fiction, sparking intense criticism for this “sudden change of heart.” Lee Yi Kyung's agency, Sangyoung Entertainment, immediately responded.

In an official statement, they stated, "We are preparing legal action regarding the spread of false information and malicious rumors in online communities and social media. Given the seriousness of this matter, we will assess the extent of the direct and indirect damages and take all necessary legal action."
