Nijiro Murakami is suspected of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. The man, best known for the Netflix series "Alice in Borderland," was reported by a woman who claimed he suffered violence at his home. These serious allegations have been forwarded to prosecutors.

Nijiro's case is accused of assaulting a woman he once lived with at his home in Shibuya, Tokyo in 2024. The ex-girlfriend has been consulting with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department since the beginning of the year regarding the violence case, and Nijiro is said to have admitted it.

"There is no doubt that I have hurt her," he said, although neither the agency nor Nijiro personally has made an official statement to the public. According to Nikkan Sports, the 29-year-old man allegedly pulled her hair, slammed her head against a window, and punched her in the face, causing serious injuries.

The woman reportedly took more than a month to recover. Nijiro, the son of actor Jun Murakami and singer UA, rose to fame after his role as Chishiya in "Alice in Borderland."

In 2023, Nijiro took a break from acting due to mental and physical health issues. At the time, he even missed the red carpet event for "Tokyo Revengers 2" and withdrew from the production of "Evangelion Beyond."

The "Come Come Everybody" actor is reportedly returning to work in 2025 with his latest drama, a Singapore-Japan co-production, "Lost and Found." However, the emergence of this case has certainly affected his popularity. Many fans have expressed criticism and disappointment on social media.

Nijiro Murakami is also scheduled to appear in the premiere of 'Strange - Junji Ito's Strange Stories That Keep You Up at Night' on July 3rd. There is currently no word on whether the event will be canceled or will continue as planned following the controversy surrounding its cast.
