South Korean actor, Choi Woo Shik faces racism accusations after attending Paris Fashion Week 2026. A Black fan recounted how Choi Woo Shik 'ignored' her even though the actor was right in front of her.

On Wednesday (June 24, 2026) local time, Choi Woo Shik was one of the special guests attending the Ami Paris men's fashion show. The Canadian actor appeared wearing a red jacket under a white shirt and striped tie.

Besides Choi Woo Shik, there were a number of rising actors and actresses eagerly awaited, such as Bright Vachirawit and Tu Tontawan from Thailand. As a result, scores of fans gathered at the venue to catch a glimpse of their idols up close.

However, one fan felt she had been treated uncomfortably by Choi Woo Shik. After the event, Choi Woo Shik approached the crowd of fans to sign autographs. Despite being "the only one carrying a poster of Choi Woo Shik" and standing in front of the fan barricade, he did not receive an autograph.

According to her, Choi Woo Shik also avoided eye contact with her, believing it was because she was black. "He saw my poster and looked away, but he walked towards us. He stood right in front of me, literally in front of me, and he didn't make eye contact at all," said the fan behind the TikTok account @triciampisi.

"My poster was right in front of him, but he signed autographs to my left, then signed autographs above my head, and then at one point he signed autographs for a fan he got at the fashion show."

"I was the only black person in the line. All the women around me had the same skin color, which I didn't have," she added. To date, the TikTok post by @triciampisi has received 2.9 million views and over 432,000 likes.

The comments section is flooded with expressions of disappointment towards Choi Woo Shik. Following the controversy that broke out on social media, Choi Woo Shik also drew criticism on his personal Instagram account @dntlrdl.

This speculation was denied by several fans who showed a video of Choi Woo Shik making a heart sign with another Black fan at the same event. The 36-year-old actor also signed autographs while handing over his book.

As reported by Maeil Business, Choi Woo Shik also participated in the Blackout Tuesday anti-racism movement in 2020. Neither Choi Woo Shik nor his agency representatives have yet to speak out on the racism allegations leveled against him.
