JTBC’s upcoming drama The Apartment Job, starring Ji Sung, has switched its press conference from an in-person event to an online one as concerns continue over the network’s recent corporate rehabilitation filing.

According to OSEN on June 24th, the drama recently changed the format of its press event. Ji Sung’s agency, SURPASS ENT, informed fans that “the press conference will be held online due to a change in event operations,” adding that all on-site fan support would not be accepted.

The reason for the change has not been disclosed, but some industry insiders believe it may be a cost-cutting move since an offline event would have come with added expenses, including venue rental fees.

JTBC defaulted on June 12, 2026 after failing to repay 20.6 billion won (approximately $13.3 million) in asset-backed debt by its maturity date. The fallout has also raised questions over JTBC’s drama lineup.

According to MyDaily, the upcoming weekend drama Love Rediscovered has paused filming for a month for “reorganization,” putting its planned late-August premiere in doubt. The series was originally set to air after The Apartment Job, but the network is reportedly considering non-drama programming for the slot.

Reports have also claimed that JTBC halted filming on all variety shows except Chef & My Fridge and Love War, and that its 2026 FIFA World Cup coverage could be suspended over unpaid broadcast rights fees.
