The Korean drama "Teach You a Lesson" is one of Netflix's hottest original series this year. Reports suggest production on the second season has already begun. Is that true?
According to Sports DongA and Ilgan Sports on Tuesday (July 21, 2026), industry insiders reported that Teach You a Lesson season 2 has begun production, although it is still in the early stages of discussions.
Netflix commented on the articles published by the two media outlets. In a brief statement, they stated that nothing has been decided yet regarding the continuation of Teach You a Lesson.
"Regarding the production of Teach You a Lesson season 2, nothing has been decided so far," they said briefly. Since its global success, discussions about the sequel to Teach You a Lesson have continued.
Furthermore, the ending of season 1 was open-ended, leaving viewers open to speculation about what the story will be like. Director Hong Jong Chan has also hinted at his interest in continuing the project.
However, as Netflix stated, nothing has been decided yet. Meanwhile, the director now has another project with the red platform. He's also teaming up again with Kim Moo Yeol (as the lead) for the medical drama "First Doctor."
Yonhap reported in late June that Hong Jong Chan will collaborate again with screenwriter Kim Min Suk on this project. Their previous project together was Juvenile Justice (2022), which was also a favorite among viewers.
The First Doctor is scheduled to begin filming in the second half of 2026. A release date has not yet been announced. Teach You a Lesson remains one of Netflix's most-watched K-dramas.
