South Korean actor and ASTRO member Cha Eun Woo is reportedly the victim of a wiretapping incident perpetrated by a woman in her 50s. The perpetrator is currently under investigation.
As reported by The Korea Times on, Saturday (September 19, 2026), a woman is being investigated on suspicion of eavesdropping on Cha Eun Woo's conversation with an acquaintance. The woman planted a recording device under a table at a cafe the actor visited last month.
When she was about to take the tapping device that she had installed under Cha Eun Woo's table, Sunday (August 30, 2026), the woman was finally arrested by the police. It wasn't just once.
The woman is suspected of having tapped Cha Eun Woo's conversations using the same method twice at the cafe, on Sunday (August 23, 2026) and Saturday (August 30, 2026). Police are currently investigating whether the woman had an accomplice in her actions.
The cafe Cha Eun Woo frequented is known to be located in the Yongsan-gu area of Seoul. For her actions, the 50-year-old woman was deemed to have violated the Telecommunications Privacy Protection Act.
The incident occurred during Cha Eun Woo's mandatory military service. He served as a member of the military band under the auspices of the South Korean Ministry of Defense. The actor frequently performs with military bands, showcasing his vocal talents.
It's no surprise that numerous photos of Cha Eun Woo performing on social media are circulating. In contrast to his pre-military appearance, Cha Eun Woo's cheeks now appear chubby. His physique also appears larger and fuller.
