Disney+ has just released the main poster and first trailer for the highly anticipated fantasy-romance drama, 'The Remarried Empress.' The drama stars Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk, and Lee Se-young.
Based on a popular Naver webtoon, the 10-episode series focuses on Navier Ellie Trovi (Shin Min-a), a seemingly perfect empress of the Eastern Empire. The drama is set as Navier's orderly life begins to unravel after her husband, Emperor Sovieshu (Ju Ji-hoon), falls in love with Rashta Isqua (Lee Se-young), a runaway slave who arrives at the palace.
In the released trailer, we can see the early moments depicting the happy royal marriage between Navier and Sovieshu, before Rashta's arrival changes everything. As Sovieshu's interest in Rashta grows, tensions spread throughout the palace, turning a personal heartbreak into a broader political crisis.
Amidst this turmoil, Crown Prince Heinrey (Lee Jong-suk) of the Western Kingdom enters Navier's life, creating an unexpected connection and offering the wounded empress a path she never expected.
According to reports, the story takes a dramatic turn when Sovieshu announces his intention to divorce Navier. Rather than resist, Navier accepts the decision, but with an extraordinary condition: permission to remarry Heinrey. The newly released poster depicts the complex relationship between these four characters.
Navier and Heinrey stand together in front of the imperial throne, while Sovieshu extends his hand towards Rashta. These contrasting poses hint that the story will be filled with romance, ambition, betrayal, and an inextricable struggle for political power.
'The Remarried Empress' is being billed as one of Disney+'s biggest productions, with filming taking place in various European locations and featuring magnificent palace sets. The original webtoon has garnered approximately 2.97 billion views worldwide as of July, indicating that the story already has a large global audience.
Directed by Cho Su-won, known for works such as 'I Can Hear Your Voice,' 'Pinocchio,' and 'Still 17,' the series is written by Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choong-yeol. 'The Remarried Empress' is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ and Hulu on November 4, with four episodes initially released.
Two additional episodes will be released every Wednesday until November 25, 2026. With royal intrigue, complicated romance, and a high-stakes power struggle, this drama is set to bring one of Korea's most popular webtoon romances to live action.
