Chinese tech giant, Honor has released a new smartphone in the Malaysian market – called Honor X9 5G. However, the company has not revealed its official pricing details yet but as per the specs and features, it seems that it is a mid-range smartphone. The key features are a 120Hz display, an octa-core Snapdragon 695 SoC, a 48MP triple rear camera and a 4,800mAh battery.

The Honor X9 has a 6.81-inch ultra-HD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2388 pixels. The display carries a 120Hz refresh rate, 19.9:9 aspect ratio and 16.7 million colors. Under the hood, it is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC clubbed with Adreno 619 GPU. The device gets 8GB of RAM. There’s also RAM extend features up to 2GB. For storage, it provides you 128GB internal storage options, though, it can be expanded via a microSD card. 

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Honor X9 includes three sensors at the back penal with a 48MP main sensor with an f/1.8 lens, a 2MP macro camera with an f/2.4 lens, and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens. On the front side, it gets a 16MP camera with an f/2.45 lens for selfies and video calls. The smartphone incorporates a 4,800mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging technology.

In terms of Operating System, the Honor X9 runs on Android 11 out of the box with MagicUI 4.2 on the top. For biometric authentication, there’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature. On the connectivity front, it brings 5G, Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port. Onboard sensors are gravity sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope.

So far, no details regarding the official pricing and availability of the Honor X9 are provided by the Chinese tech company. There’s no information on when the smartphone will be available for other markets. The handset will be available in three colors options, i.e. Titanium Silver, Ocean Blue, and Midnight Black.
