Seoul Vibe is the latest Netflix film that will air in August 2022. Ahead of the screening, the final trailer was finally released. Seoul Vibe is directed by Moon Hyun Sung. This film tells the story of a group of automotive enthusiasts who want to realize the typical American dream ahead of the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
An offer that is difficult to refuse from a prosecutor makes a group of drivers and mechanics who are members of the Sanggye-dong Team forced to raise illicit funds to disarm the secret of a mysterious character named Ms. Kang. Unexpectedly they become famous and in fact face great danger, which requires them to tinker with their flagship car in order to produce the best vehicle to crush crime to the end.
The trailer opens with the atmosphere of 1980s Seoul and the roar of the trendy cars of its era. The Sanggye-dong team appears to be faced with an offer to become spies with lucrative payoffs. But it seems they also have to accept various consequences such as being hunted by the police and dealing with danger.
The Sanggye-dong team consists of great drivers with perfect drifting skills named Dong Wook (Yoo Ah In) , John Woo the DJ (Koh Kyung Pyo), Bok Nam the reliable navigator (Lee Kyu Hyung), Yoon Hee the talented motorcycle racer (Park Ju Hyun), and Joon Gi the mechanic (Ong Seong Wu).
They team up to thwart a criminal syndicate as Seoul prepares to host the 1988 Olympics. Yoo Ah In also revealed the atmosphere of shooting Seoul Vibe. According to him, filming did not feel heavy because the actors know each other well and are friends of the same age. "From start to finish it was like hanging out with friends the same age," he said.
