Timothee Chalamet once again proved his acting prowess by winning the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role award at the 2025 SAG Awards. Previously, many expected that Adrien Brody (The Brutalist) or Ralph Fiennes (Conclave) would take home this trophy.
However, Timothee Chalamet managed to outdo both of them through his role as Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown. Meanwhile, two other names competing in this category are Daniel Craig ( Queer ) and Colman Domingo (Sing Sing).
" I know this industry is full of subjectivity, but what I'm really after is greatness. I know most people don't talk like this, but I want to be one of the best. I'm inspired by the legends. I'm inspired by the people who are here tonight, " said Timothee Chalamet when accepting his award, quoted on Tuesday February 25, 2025.
" I am as inspired by Daniel Day-Lewis, Marlon Brando and Viola Davis as I am by Michael Jordan and Michael Phelps. I want to be on their level. So, I am very grateful. This award is not proof of that achievement, but it is additional fuel, additional ammunition to keep going. Thank you very much, " he said again.
On the other hand, A Complete Unknown recorded quite good achievements at the box office, with revenues reaching $109 million from domestic and international markets. At just 29 years old, Timothee Chalamet has officially become the youngest winner of Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role in SAG Awards history.
His achievements this awards season have further stolen the spotlight, as he has also become the youngest actor to earn a Best Actor nomination at the Academy Awards for 2 consecutive years. Timothee Chalamet's first big role came in Call Me By Your Name (2017), a coming-of-age film by Luca Guadagnino.
His career continued to rise after successfully playing Paul Atreides in the science fiction film Dune: Part One , adapted from the classic novel by Frank Herbert. He then starred in Dune: Part Two which was released last year and with the Dune: Part Three project currently in preparation, his career is predicted to shine even brighter.
