Ravi was sentenced to 2 years in prison on suspicion of falsifying medical records to avoid military service. He also decided to withdraw from VIXX. Jellyfish Entertainment confirmed Ravi's departure as a VIXX member. Until now, VIXX's activities are still managed by the agency.
"We thank the fans who have supported VIXX. We want to inform Ravi that he has decided to leave VIXX," said Jellyfish Entertainment. "After discussions between Ravi and the agency, it was decided that starting today Ravi will withdraw from VIXX. We apologize for making fans who support VIXX disappointed," he concluded.
Ravi also personally wrote a letter which was uploaded on his Instagram account. He apologized to the fans and VIXX members who were harmed for what had happened. Ravi also revealed his reasons for using brokers to falsify medical records. This was done in the interest of its management, GROOVL1N.
"I am the only artist in the company who is making a profit, and the contract that was signed before COVID-19 was postponed without certainty. With the burden of canceling the contract, I decided to postpone my military service," said Ravi. "In desperation, I made a stupid decision.
And when my worries about the company and contract issues were over, I voluntarily signed up for military service in public service and served since October 2022," he continued. Ravi also apologized to epilepsy patients and also those who were serving military service properly.
He also apologized for causing disappointment and voluntarily withdrew from VIXX. "I apologize to everyone who was hurt and to the fans who have passionately supported me. I wanted to be someone you could be proud of, but I showed an embarrassing side of myself," Ravi added.
"Finally, I have decided to withdraw from VIXX so that no greater losses will be imposed on the members because of my mistakes. Sincerely, I thank everyone who has worked together for 11 years, and I am very sorry. I hope there will be no more the losses suffered by the members were due to my mistakes," he concluded.
