Love in the Big City" is just a few days away from airing. Ahead of the airing, the writer of the novel and drama script, Park Sang Young, expressed his frustration because he felt that the drama starring Nam Yoon Su was marked before it aired. Writer San Young revealed, "We were marked by a certain group, and the drama teaser was made private.
There are only nine days left until the premiere, and I can't sleep at night thinking about how absurd it is that we can't even promote it." However, writer San Young confirmed that "Love in the Big City" will still air as scheduled. "No matter what happens, the drama will be released on October 21, 2024," he added.
Writer San Young's outpouring was responded to by the "Love in the Big City" production team. According to them, the drama teaser was indeed temporarily removed. However, not because of external protests as the writer claimed, but to adjust to the audience rating. "Since the full series received an adult rating, the teaser also needs to be re-evaluated," said the production team of "Love in the Big City".
However, they admitted to receiving some complaints according to writer San Young's story. "Love in the Big City" follows writer Go Young (Yoon Su) as she explores life and love through various relationships. With four different directors helming each episode, the drama aims to capture the essence of youth and romance.
The Korea Media Rating Board explained that the adult rating for "Love in the Big City" was due to nightclub scenes, explicit language such as, "we made love," intimate encounters, topics such as unplanned pregnancy and abortion, and references to HIV. The board added that "Love in the Big City" contains realistic depictions of drugs and sexual content, with repeated use of strong language, making it inappropriate for younger viewers."
