BTS' Jimin surprised fans with the announcement of his second solo album which will be released in the near future. Through the official BTS account, BigHit Music as the boy group's agency shared a teaser video for Jimin's second solo album on Tuesday June 18, 2024 early morning KST.
In the teaser video, the musician who was born in 1995 is seen entering an empty room and walking to open a locker with a piece of paper containing musical notes from the song entitled La Lettra. Not long after, BigHit announced the title of Jimin's new album entitled MUSE which is planned for release on July 19 2024 at 13.00 KST or 11.00 WIB.
"(Jimin) 'MUSE' 2024.07.19. 1PM (KST) | 0AM (ET)," wrote @bts_bighit on X (or Twitter). However, there is still no further information regarding the song list or promotional schedule for musician Jimin's latest comeback.
Through the latest post on Weverse, BigHit Music said that the MUSE album will be a documentation of Jimin's search for sources of inspiration. "We are very happy to share details about the release of BTS member Jimin's second solo album, MUSE. We ask for your continued love and support for Jimin's second solo album, MUSE," said the agency.
"Following his first solo album, FACE , where he sought to explore his true identity, MUSE documents his journey in search of the source of his inspiration," the statement read. Continuing the statement, it was revealed that the MUSE album will consist of seven new songs with the song entitled Closer Than This which was previously released in December 2023.
"Showing Jimin's expanded musical spectrum, MUSE includes seven songs, including the fan song Closer Than This which was released in December 2023," he continued. Jimin made his solo album debut through an album entitled FACE which was released on March 24 2023.
The FACE album even broke records in various countries, such as South Korea and Japan, and reached number two on the US Billboard 200 chart. Currently, Jimin and the other five BTS members are undergoing military service. Jin, the oldest member of BTS, just completed his military service on June 12 and BTS is expected to make a comeback as a complete group in 2025.
