Korean media highlights the unmatched influence of BTS's Jungkook and Jimin 'Ace Duo', who dominate global charts with new and previous releases. In the announcement for this week's chart dated July 13, 2024, Jimin's pre-release track 'Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco)' from his second solo album 'MUSE,' which was released on June 28, 2024, debuted at No. 88 on the Hot 100's main singles chart.
This achievement, based solely on digital sales and music video views without any official promotion, underscores Jimin’s immense popularity. The song also performed well on various other charts, including No. 1 on World Digital Song Sales, No. 3 on Digital Song Sales, No. 7 on Global Excl. US, and No. 16 on Global 200.
In addition, the title track 'Like Crazy' from Jimin's first solo album 'FACE' released in April last year saw a significant increase in rankings. The song rose 71 spots to No. 60 on the Global Excl. US chart and 58 spots to No. 108 on the Global 200. Meanwhile, Jungkook continues to maintain his steady popularity on the Billboard chart.
His solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)', released in July last year, remains at No. 64 on the Global 200 and the title track 'Standing Next to You' from his solo album 'GOLDEN' released in November 2023, is at No. 190. On the US Global chart, 'Seven' is at No. 41, 'Standing Next to You' is at No. 103, and his digital single 'Never Let Go', which was released in June this year, is at No. 127.
Jimin will release his second solo album 'MUSE' and the music video for the title track 'Who' globally on July 19, 2024 at 1 p.m. KST. The new album, consisting of seven tracks, explores the theme of love and follows his journey in search of a source of inspiration. Additionally, Jimin and Jungkook’s unexpected travel vlog, ‘Are You Sure?!’ will premiere on Disney+ on August 8, 2024.
The original series features the two traveling across Korea, the US, and Japan, engaging in various activities. Last year, Jungkook mentioned the travel series during his appearance on Suga's 'Suchwita', raising fans' anticipation. The series will consist of eight episodes, with a new episode released every Thursday.
