Girl's Day's Hyeri will be returning to the small screen by starring in the mystery thriller drama 'Friendly Rivalry' (literal title)! After previously reporting that Hyeri was in talks for the upcoming drama 'Friendly Rivalry', a Korean news outlet confirmed on July 17, 2024 that she will be taking on the lead role in the series.
Based on a webtoon by writer Song Chae Yoon, 'Friendly Rivalry' is a mystery thriller drama that follows the bloody rivalry between Yoo Jae Yi, a seemingly perfect high school student, and Woo Seul Gi, a naive transfer student.
The two become best friends, and then gradually reveal their infatuation and desire to become No.1 in school. Hyeri will play Yoo Jae Yi, a character from a privileged family with beautiful looks and a high IQ, who excels academically even in a school full of smart students.
Aware of her strengths, Yoo Jae Yi is also adept at manipulating situations.However, his life changes when he is attracted to newcomer Woo Seul Gi, leading to a dangerous relationship dynamic where the lines between friendship and obsession become blurred.
