SEVENTEEN's Mingyu has just received a lot of attention from South Korean netizens and his fans. The reason is, the man born in 1997 was caught giving a fantastic amount of cash as a Parent's Day gift to his father and mother.

Kim Mingyu or better known by his stage name Mingyu is a member of a popular boyband  called SEVENTEEN. This group was formed by HYBE's subsidiary, PLEDIS Entertainment. Mingyu is a member who is positioned as  a rapper, sub-vocalist, as well as the main visual and face of the group. 

He is also part of the hip-hop unit SEVENTEEN, along with three other members, Wonwoo, Vernon, and S.Coups. Not long after his debut with SEVENTEEN, Mingyu successfully caught the public's attention. Thanks to his handsome face and charming body posture, this idol received many offers in addition to his work as a singer.

Mingyu is busy with offers to host music awards. In addition, this man has also succeeded in collaborating with  famous brands and becoming one of their brand ambassador models, you know. Mingyu successfully became L'OCCITANE's first brand ambassador in Asia and received much praise from the directors regarding the success obtained from the collaboration. The public was shocked by the latest viral news from Mingyu, a member of the boy group SEVENTEEN. 

This idol  is known to have just given a cash gift of 500 million Won to his parents. In a video clip that circulated, Hoshi, his bandmate asked what Mingyu gave on the last Parents' Day celebration. Hearing that, Mingyu responded that he did not give a gift in the form of goods. He admitted to giving cash directly to his father and mother.

When asked how much the money was, the idol admitted that he gave a gift of 500 million Won, which was divided equally between each of his parents. This immediately surprised the other SEVENTEEN members, even DK joked by asking, "Can I be your mother?" Seeing his friends' responses, Mingyu replied with a light laugh while covering his embarrassed face. 

Wow, it must be admitted that this idol's career is very successful, right. The video clip showing Mingyu's confession quickly went viral on social media. Fans couldn't help but praise Mingyu for the touching gift he gave to his parents. Many CARATs–SEVENTEEN’s fandom name–even jokingly compared the huge amount to YG Entertainment’s recent earnings. 

Quoting from PinkVilla, fans said Mingyu gave his mother and father more cash gifts than BLACKPINK’s agency earned during the second trimester of this year, which was around 300 million Won. In addition, netizens also said that with 500 million Won, someone can easily buy an apartment and other luxury goods in South Korea. 

However, Mingyu chose to give hundreds of millions of Won to his parents as a form of gratitude and reciprocation. Well, in Indonesia itself, the 500 million Won that Mingyu gave is equivalent to almost Rp5.8 billion. A very fantastic amount to be given as a Parent's Day gift, right.
