Queen of Tears emerged as the most popular Korean content on Netflix in the first half of 2024. This achievement was conveyed directly by Netflix as the drama streaming platform when delivering their biennial report on Friday September 20, 2024. 

The Korean drama has reportedly garnered 29 million views, making it the 14th most-watched show on Netflix. Through the latest Engagement Report, Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won's drama accumulated the number of views and total time of all in-house and licensed works on Netflix up to 50,000 hours from January to June 2024. 

Korea JoongAng Daily even reported that total viewing time on the platform has reached 94 billion hours. The top 10 most popular content on Netflix is ​​dominated by British-made series, such as Fool Me Once, Baby Reindeer, The Gentlemen, and One Day. However, it was non-English series that managed to contribute a third of the total viewing time. 

Queen of Tears successfully entered the most popular charts of non-English content along with the horror series Parasyte: The Grey which reached 25 million viewers. There is also a romance drama titled My Demon starring Song Kang in 2023 and already has 18 million viewers. In addition, there is Doctor Slump starring Park Shin-hye with 14 million views. 

Queen of Tears is one of the popular Korean dramas in many countries and social media, every week the latest episodes are broadcast from March 9 to April 28. Reported by Nielsen Korea, this drama achieved a rating of 24.85 percent for the final episode, overtaking Crash Landing On You (2020) which received a rating of 21.68 percent. 

Queen of Tears tells the story of a married couple from different family backgrounds, Baek Hyun-woo and Hong Hae-in, who are experiencing a number of storms. Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun) is the proud son of Yongdu-ri village. 

He is married to Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won), the daughter of a conglomerate who owns Queens Group. The drama is written by writer Park Ji-eun. She is the scriptwriter for a number of hit Korean dramas, such as Crash Landing on You, The Legend of the Blue Sea, The Producers, My Love from the Star, and My Husband Got a Family.
