The release date for the Wind Breaker anime series season 2 has been set for April 2025. The latest key visual and teaser have been released along with this announcement. The production of the second season was first announced last June 2024.
A new voice actor for the character Tasuku Tsubakino—one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Bofurin who was previously introduced in the final episode of season 1—has also been announced. Ryouta Oosaka has been cast as his voice actor.
A game adaptation of the series has also been announced. The game is titled Wind Breaker: Heroic Tales of Delinquents. The announcement was made through a video featuring the members of Bofurin, but there is no information about a release date yet.
Studio CloverWorks is handling the animation for the first season with Toshifumi Akai as director, and Hiroshi Seko (Chainsaw Man) as series composition writer. Taishi Kawakami (Akebi's Sailor Uniform) serves as chief animation director and character designer, while the music is handled by Ryo Takahashi ( Arifureta ).
Wind Breaker scored quite well on various anime rating sites. On MyAnimeList, Wind Breaker ranked 16th with a score of 7.79, slightly below another CloverWorks anime airing at the same time, Black Butler: Public School Arc (7.97).
Meanwhile on Anilist, this anime received a slightly higher ranking, being in 14th position with an average score of 77%. Throughout its broadcast season, Wind Breaker received appreciation on social media for its outstanding hand-to-hand combat animation and the power of its visual storytelling.
In addition, the series is also supported by a line-up of voice actors who are popular among anime fans. This anime tells the story of Haruka Sakura, a first-year student who transfers to Furin High School, a school known for its students who like to solve problems through physical violence.
