SS501 is rumored to be having a comeback or reunion to celebrate their 20th debut anniversary in 2025. News outlets also reported that they are currently preparing to release a new album, which is planned to be released next year. 

SS501 is also rumored to be targeting the Japanese music market as the main market for their upcoming comeback album. Instead of focusing promotions in South Korea. 

Quoting from Soompi on Thursday October 17, 2024, responding to news about the SS501 boy group reunion next year, the agency that manages one of the members, namely Kim Hyun Joong, HENECIA, said that they had not received any reports regarding the plan.

"We have never heard any news about SS501's reunion plan. We also have not received any reports regarding it. So we have no information, nothing we can share regarding this," said a representative from the agency HENECIA.

Meanwhile, the boy group SS501 is a boy group consisting of 5 members, including Kim Hyun Joong, Park Jung Min, Kim Hyung Jun, Heo Young Saeng, and Kim Kyu Jong. Debuting in 2005, SS501 successfully gained popularity not only in South Korea, but also globally at that time. 

Especially when they performed the OST song for the popular Korean drama 'Boys Over Flowers' where member Kim Hyun Joong also played a role in it. Songs like 'Making A Lover' and 'Because I'm Stupid' successfully made SS501's name popular globally. 

In addition, they also released a number of other hits such as 'Never Again,' 'Snow Prince,' 'Deja Vu,' and many more. After releasing a mini album titled 'Destination' in May 2010, the group ended their activities due to the expiration of their contract with the agency DSP Media.

After that, 3 members, namely Kim Kyu Jong, Kim Hyung Jun, and Heo Young Saeng formed the sub-unit group SS301 in 2016 and were active until 2018. SS501 also tried to make a comeback in 2020, but they canceled the plan due to conflicting schedules between the members.
