BIGBANG's G-Dragon has been confirmed to take part in the 2024 MAMA Awards in Japan on November 23, 2024. The 1988-born man is scheduled to depart for Japan by plane from Incheon International Airport on November 21, 2024.
However, G-Dragon arrived quite late compared to other passengers who were also heading to Japan. The singer of "Fantastic Baby" apparently arrived at Incheon airport only about 30 minutes before the flight time.
G-Dragon's arrival was quite eye-catching as he wore a plaid tweed top from Channel paired with fuchsia pink pants. As soon as he arrived, the singer of "BANG BANG BANG" was immediately greeted by a crowd of fans and media crews.
However, there was one reporter who gave G-Dragon a harsh dig for arriving late and so close to the flight time. The TV Daily reporter wrote the headline, "G-Dragon 'Casually Arrives at Airport 30 Minutes Before Flight Departure."
Seeing the headline, netizens immediately suspected that the reporter was intentionally trying to mock G-Dragon. " The headline mocks GD, if that's true, then it's GD's fault [sic!]," wrote one netizen. " The reporter looks angry [sic!]," added another.
" Can she reach the gate in 30 minutes? Maybe she checked in earlier? [sic!]," another netizen said. " Usually, celebrities already check in and they go straight in. But still, 30 minutes is a bit [sic!]," another added.
On the other hand, G-Dragon's solo comeback with the song titled "POWER" after a long time immediately received love from fans. The song managed to top the MelOn Hot 100 chart in just 5 minutes after its release.
G-Dragon explained that the song "POWER" contains various meanings, including satire on the power of the media and the importance of aligning different types of power. As soon as it was released, G-Dragon's latest song immediately trended on various music charts.
