In this drama, Go Hyun Jung will play star producer Kang Soo Hyun, bringing his character to life, seamlessly transitioning between his professional role at the office and his personal life at home, which naturally drives the drama forward.
Before the reading, he worked closely with the staff on every detail to shape his character, building anticipation for his transformation. Ryeoun, who plays Yoo Jin Woo, a former long-time trainee, adds depth to her character, who struggles with self-doubt despite her obvious talent.
To capture the essence of an idol trainee, Ryeoun incorporated subtle movements, such as strumming the guitar and holding the microphone, during the recitation, which brought energy and realism to her performance.
Then Yoon Sang Hyun plays Shim Joon Seok, Kang Soo Hyun's husband and a former music producer, bringing his signature realistic acting to the role, bringing energy to the set. In scenes with music, he shows his professional skills, closing his eyes and feeling the rhythm.
Lastly, there is Lee Jin Woo who plays Shim Joon Seok and Kang Soo Hyun's son, Shim Jin Woo, plays a character with hearing impairment. During the script reading, he followed his co-actors' lip movements to deliver his lines, reflecting his character's unique way of communicating.
The outstanding chemistry between Go Hyun Jung and Ryeoun, who play mentor and mentee with different goals but the same path, is drawing particular attention. Every time their tense and unstable characters clash and reconcile, the actors make eye contact and adjust their performances, displaying strong teamwork.
Meanwhile, the interactions between Go Hyun Jung, Yoon Sang Hyun, and Lee Jin Woo as a family with different dreams resonated with viewers, drawing them deeper into the story. The drama has made a strong start, with the cast's chemistry and attention to detail standing out during the script reading.
As the title Namib suggests a dramatic meeting between the desert and the sea, the harmony between the four main characters is highly anticipated. Meanwhile, Namib will premiere on December 23, 2024 at 10 p.m. KST.
