South Korean actor, Lee Chae Min is reportedly in talks to star in tvN's upcoming drama The Tyrant's Chef (literal translation). He will replace Park Sung Hoon who was previously recruited to play the male lead alongside SNSD's Yoona.

In response to the reports, Lee Chae Min's agency, GOLDMEDALIST, confirmed that the actor is currently reviewing the drama offer. "Lee Chae Min received an offer (to star in) The Tyrant's Chef and is positively reviewing the offer," GOLDMEDALIST was quoted as saying by Soompi, on Tuesday January 14, 2025.

The Tyrant's Chef tells the story of a chef who, at the peak of his career, travels back in time. There, he meets a king who is known as the worst tyrant, but also a culinary expert. The drama will be directed by Jang Tae Yoo, who has previously directed popular dramas such as My Love from the Star, Lovers of the Red Sky, and Knight Flower.

Previously, SNSD's Yoona was offered the role of a tyrant chef, while Park Sung Hoon was in talks to play the male lead. However, in late December 2024, Park Sung Hoon was involved in a controversy that led to his decision to step down from the drama, even though the actor and his agency had apologized multiple times.

Lee Chae Min previously gained attention after starring in the drama Crash Course in Romance. She then landed a lead role in the drama Hierarchy. This year, Lee Chae Min will also be playing the lead role in MBC's upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Bunny and the Boys.
