Being a mother is certainly not an easy job, especially when you have to raise two toddlers while still pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. That's what singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor is currently experiencing.
The singer of 'All About That Bass' admitted to being overwhelmed and experiencing severe stress as a mother of two. Unable to cope with the stress alone, she finally sought help from medical personnel. "I'm exhausted and stressed.
I'm a mother of two!" Meghan said on her podcast, Workin' On It, as quoted by Female First. The 31-year-old is married to 'Spy Kids' actor Daryl Sabara. In addition to her busy music career, she is also raising her eldest son, Riley (4 years old), and her youngest son Barry who is not yet two years old.
The busy routine of being a mother and a worker seems to be taking a toll on her health both physically and mentally. In the latest episode of the podcast, Meghan shared that she has been seeing two doctors at once.
One for general health, the other to deal with stress. "We're going to work together. I'm going to have all the tests done again—fecal tests, breath tests, blood tests—to see how my hormones are doing," she explained.
Doctors suspect Meghan's cortisol (stress hormone) levels were dangerously low due to excessive stress. "He believes that's the cause, and will help me not get sick easily again. That's my goal now," she added.
Meghan also said she has started seeing a chiropractor regularly. She was initially scared when she had to undergo neck manipulation therapy, but now feels more relieved. "After three sessions, I finally got the courage. It felt scary, but it turned out to be really good.
I immediately understood why so many people like it," she said. Through her story, Meghan gives an indirect message that it is okay to ask for help. Even celebrities can fall if they keep delaying listening to their own bodies and minds.
