Celebrity couple Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara are apparently on a weight loss program together. Meghan's husband is taking the same medication as her. Meghan Trainor and her husband, Kids actor Daryl Sabara, revealed that they both took Mounjaro in an effort to lose weight.
They shared their story on the Workin' On It podcast episode that aired on April 10, 2025. "We went on the 75 Hard program after our son Riley was born and it worked wonders," Sabara said. Trainor added, "Then we heard a lot of friends, even our doctor, were using Mounjaro and Ozempic."
The 31-year-old singer decided to try Mounjaro because she said it had fewer side effects than other weight loss drugs. "I initially wanted to do it naturally. But after consulting with a doctor and doing some research, I felt it was safe to try it," said the 'All About That Bass' singer.
Sabara followed in his wife's footsteps. "I do it too," she said, followed by Trainor's comment, "We always do everything together." Sabara, who is famous as a child actor through his role in the film 'Spy Kids', also admitted to gaining weight while accompanying Meghan's pregnancy.
Now, the couple admits to being more aware of the importance of a balanced, healthy lifestyle. "We're on the lowest dose and we're still exercising and eating healthy," Trainor said. "We don't want to lose the muscle mass that we've built up over the years." They also employ simple tricks to control their portions, such as using smaller plates.
"I buy smaller plates so I don't put too much rice on them," Trainor said. Despite using weight loss medication, Trainor insists that their success is due to hard work. "You still have to work at it. It's not an instant solution." Trainor also responded to negative comments she received on social media about her physical appearance.
After receiving an award at the Billboard Women in Music event, she admitted that she felt hurt by comments about her body. "Everyone just wants to talk about my body, but I'm here for my music," she said. "I feel like a 13-year-old being bullied in front of the class."
Support from close friends helped her rise. She then decided to speak openly about her journey through an Instagram post. "I'm not ashamed of using medical help to lose weight," she said. "I'm proud of myself for learning and continuing to fight. Hateful comments won't stop me."
