BTS's RM and V officially completed their 1.5 years of military service on June 10, 2025. The two celebrated this moment by meeting fans and media crews in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, after completing their discharge procedures at their respective military bases.

RM and V enlisted as active duty soldiers in December 2023. RM served in the 15th Infantry Division as a member of the military band, while V served in the 802nd Military Police Unit in the 2nd Army Corps. The two were greeted by enthusiastic cheers from fans upon arriving at the location.

RM, who performed playing the saxophone, managed to steal the attention and invite laughter, while V and RM hugged each other in a touching moment. In his statement, RM shared his military service experience.

“Finally, I finished my service. We served a relatively short period of time in better conditions. Although there were many challenges and difficulties, I really felt that during our career, many people have guarded this country for us,” he said.

He also added, “While we were active, many soldiers on the front lines and back lines fought to protect the country, so that we could live our careers to the fullest. I feel very grateful.” RM also shared how military service brought him closer to his father and friends.

“I became closer to my father and friends, and had meaningful time with my colleagues who have finished military service. However, I am also worried about my juniors who are still serving. I hope they can be strong and healthy until they return to society,” he said.

To BTS fans, or ARMY, RM expressed his gratitude, “Thank you for waiting for us. I will return as BTS’s RM and try to do my best in society.” Meanwhile, V shared a deep reflection on his experience during his military service. “After entering the military, it was a time to reflect and reorganize my body and mind.

I managed to rebuild my body and mind, and now I want to meet ARMY soon,” he said. He continued, "Thank you to ARMY who has been waiting for us. Please wait a little longer, we will return with an amazing stage." V also expressed his gratitude to his colleagues in his unit.

“There are still many seniors and colleagues in my unit who really care about me. I hope they can all complete their tasks safely and healthily. Thank you for all their concern. In society later, I will try to be a good and cool person,” he added enthusiastically.
