Lee Jae Wook and Shin Ye Eun have been confirmed to star in the upcoming drama 'The Persevering Doctor' (working title). This romantic comedy, adapted from the popular webtoon of the same name, is scheduled to premiere in 2026.
'The Persevering Doctor' follows the journey of Do Ji Eui (Lee Jae Wook), a public health doctor who previously worked as a plastic surgeon at a university hospital, and Yook Ha Ri (Shin Ye Eun), a nurse with a mysterious past.
The two meet on Pyeondong Island, a place known for its many unique stories. Do Ji Eui, who has a trauma about islands and the ocean, finds her assignment on Pyeondong Island to be a turning point in her life.
Meanwhile, Yook Ha Ri, who has just transferred from a university hospital to an island health center, is determined to help someone amidst the gossip surrounding her. Lee Jae Wook expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "This is my first time playing a doctor, so I'm both nervous and excited.
I'll give it my best. This will be a new challenge and a valuable experience for me." Shin Ye Eun also shared her excitement, saying, "When I read the script, I was convinced that this drama would be truly enjoyable. I want to create this work with confidence."
