TREASURE's Junkyu will temporarily halt all activities after experiencing health problems, as announced by YG Entertainment as his agency. YG Entertainment stated that Junkyu, despite his poor health, is doing his best to continue with the group's activities.
He's even participating in various activities, such as when TREASURE recently wrapped up promotions for their latest mini-album, "NEW WAV."
"However, based on the artist's own wishes and the consideration of those around him that Junkyu needs peace and special rest, it has been decided that he will temporarily halt all his activities and take a period of rest," said YG Entertainment on Monday (June 29, 2026).
YG Entertainment announced that Junkyu will temporarily be unable to participate in TREASURE's upcoming activities, including the P/V filming for the B-side track "DANGER" which is scheduled to take place soon.
Both the agency and all TREASURE members will provide full support to Junkyu to recover through adequate rest and stable condition, so that he can return to health as soon as possible.
Following the announcement, Junkyu also uploaded a handwritten letter via the Weverse platform to share a message for his fans.
“Hello, TREASURE MAKER! This is Junkyu. I’ve been thinking for a long time about how to start this letter, but I’ve finally decided to write it in the hope that my sincere feelings will reach you,” Junkyu wrote.
Junkyu expressed his gratitude for the continuous love he has received from fans all this time, making every moment feel like a miracle, and truly happy.
However, he admitted that while he kept running forward and giving his all, there were times when he felt like he was no longer aware of the signals his mind and body were giving him.
"Because I always wanted to show you my best and most professional side, I kept trying to act as if everything was fine. But I finally realized that it was time for me to take a break and take care of myself," Junkyu said.
Junkyu said that after much discussion with the company, he decided to temporarily stop his activities and take some time to rest. Furthermore, Junkyu apologized because the sudden news made TREASURE MAKER, who had been his biggest source of encouragement, feel worried.
"However, I believe this break is what I need so I can return as a healthier and stronger version of myself. I will use this time to rest well, organize my thoughts, and return as my true self," Junkyu concluded.
