Samsung Galaxy M42 5G packs a 6.6-inches HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, the smartphone brings the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC that has a maximum clock speed of 2.2GHz.
The smartphone features a waterdrop notch that comprises a 20MP (f/2.2) selfie snapper. Moving around to the back, we have a quad-camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle f/2.2 lens, a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens, and a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 macro lens.
The smartphone comes in options with 6GB / 128GB, and 8GB / 128GB. The storage is expandable up to 1TB via a micro SD card. It ships with Android 11 based One UI 3.1. The phone measures 164.4×75.9×8.6mm and weighs 190 grams.
In terms of connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G has 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm audio jack. The device has a 5,000mAh battery keeping the lights on with a 15W fast charging support.
Samsung Galaxy M42 5G is priced at Rs 21,999 and Rs 23,999 for the 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB variants respectively. As an introductory offer, the brand is offering Galaxy M42 5G at Rs 19,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant and Rs 21,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant.
There are three colour options available – Prism Dot Black, Prism Dot Gray, and Prism Dot White. The Galaxy M42 5G will be available on Amazon India and Samsung online store starting May 1.
