South Korean tech giant, Samsung has launched the Galaxy M13 series in India. The range includes M13 5G and M13 models. The Galaxy M13 5G gets a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC and starts at Rs. 13,999. The non-5G model has an Exynos 850 chipset and it starts at Rs. 11,999. Both the smartphones share a similar design language but differ ever so slightly in terms of hardware.
The new Galaxy M13 series is aimed at buyers looking for an affordable handset. As a result, the South Korean tech company behemoth continues to flood the market with its entry-level and mid-range smartphones. Samsung enjoys the second largest market share in India where it continues to face fierce competition from rivals such as Vivo, Xiaomi and Realme - particularly in the sub-Rs. 15,000 segment.
The Samsung Galaxy M13 5G boasts a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The Galaxy M13 4G variant gets a 6.6-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2408 pixels) LCD screen, with 480-nits of peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Both the M13 5G and M13 feature a waterdrop notch design, slim bezels, plastic body, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy M13 5G includes a 50MP (f/1.8) main sensor and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. The 4G sibling has a similar setup but with an additional 5MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide snapper. Up front, the smartphones sport a 5MP (f/2.2) and 8MP (f/2.2) camera, respectively. On the software front, the devices boot One UI Core 4 based on Android 12 OS out of the box.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy M13 5G draws power from a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, whereas the 4G model is fueled by an Exynos 850 chipset. The devices come in 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB configurations. The 5G model houses a 5,000mAh battery, while the 4G one has a 6,000mAh battery. Both support 15W charging via Type-C port.
For official pricing and availability, the Samsung Galaxy M13 5G is priced at Rs. 13,999 and Rs. 15,999 for its 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB models, respectively. The Galaxy M13 4G costs Rs. 11,999 and Rs. 13,999 for its 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB variants, respectively. The handsets are offered in Midnight Blue, Stardust Brown, and Aqua Green shades. They can be purchased via Amazon and Samsung.com from July 23 onward.
