One by one the BTS members began to undergo a temporary hiatus to carry out military service. After Jin who had already left, J-Hope followed later. This was officially announced by BIGHIT MUSIC as management. Through Weverse, they announced that J-Hope had canceled his request for a postponement of military service and would begin preparing to carry out his obligations.

"We would like to inform you that J-Hope has started the military enlistment process by submitting a termination of delaying his enlistment. We will notify further developments through a separate statement," said BIGHIT MUSIC. "We ask fans to continue to provide love and support for J-Hope until he completes his military service and returns in good health. 

Our company will continue to provide support for our artists. Thank you," he concluded. Shortly after the military enlistment announcement, BIGHIT MUSIC also revealed that J-Hope had prepared a special solo song for fans. The song is titled 'on the street' and will be released on March 3, 2023.

BIGHIT MUSIC said J-Hope wrote his own song 'on the street' which will contain an expression of his feelings for fans. The title chosen is a description of the beginning of a J-Hope, who started his dream of becoming an idol by becoming a street dancer. Previously, BTS members had announced their plans to focus on solo projects in 2023. 

J-Hope, Jin, and RM have officially debuted solo. Jimin is confirmed to be the fourth BTS member to release a solo album titled FACE, while Suga has just announced plans for a world tour as AGUST D. Meanwhile, two other BTS members, Jungkook and V, have yet to announce plans for their official solo debut.
