NCT DOJAEJUNG has just officially debuted on Monday April 17, 2023 with a mini album titled "Perfume". Unfortunately, SM Entertainment was forced to postpone all of their promotional activities due to one of the members, Jaehyun, being ill.
The agency that houses the new unit consisting of Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo released an official statement regarding the postponement of the promotion on the official NCT fan community on Wednesday April 19, 2023.
The statement was also uploaded by NCT DOJAEJUNG's fanbase account through a Twitter tweet with the account name @/NCT_Indonesia. In a statement, SM Entertainment revealed that Jaehyun is unwell. The idol has been resting since Tuesday April 18, 2023 but until now has not improved.
"Hello. We gave a statement regarding NCT's Jaehyun's health. Jaehyun went to the hospital for a Covid-19 test and the result was negative," SM Entertainment wrote. Not only that, the management also fully revealed Jaehyun's condition. The singer, born in 1997, was diagnosed with the flu with a high fever and a sore throat that kept getting worse.
Jaehyun will also take a break this week to focus on recovery as well as a precautionary measure given the Covid-19 incubation period. Therefore, NCT DOJAEJUNG had to stop these promotional activities because Jaehyun's health was more important.
"We would like to inform you that promotional activities for NCT DOJAEJUNG's first mini album 'Perfume' scheduled for this week such as music events, fan sign events, etc. have inevitably been canceled," SM continued. But not to worry, promotional activities will resume when Jaehyun's condition improves.
"As soon as Jaehyun's health recovers, we will make additional announcements regarding NCT's promotional activities. We will do our best so that [Jaehyun] can concentrate on recovery while considering the artist's health and safety as our top priority. Thank you," they concluded.
