YG Entertainment's boyband, TREASURE, will have a sub-unit! The plan is for this sub-unit to become one of management's weapons to gather more fans for the youngest boy group. Named T5 (pronounced T-Five), this group was chosen based on the most handsome visuals.
This was revealed by Yang Hyun Suk as the executive producer of YG Entertainment. In a special video greeting TREASURE fans, he revealed many plans for TREASURE promotion including for the T5 sub-unit. When mentioning the process of selecting the sub-unit members, Yang Hyun Suk told an anecdote.
"I asked the TREASURE members and asked them to raise their hands if they thought they were the most handsome among the members. That's how T5 was finally formed," said the YG boss in a video released on the TREASURE YouTube channel.
It is planned that T5 will be introduced in July 2023. At the same time, the introduction of T5 will be a teaser for the comeback of TREASURE's second full album which is scheduled for release in August 2023. YG Entertainment will not only release photos of the introduction of the T5 members but also a video ready to be released for fans.
This video is a recording of one of their choreography exercises which will be used as a pre-release video before the new MV is revealed. "This is very special and has never been done by YG before," said Yang Hyun Suk again.
At the end of the video, Yang Hyun Suk conveyed a message for TREASURE fans who are familiarly called TEUME.
