EXO released a new song as well as a video clip/MV titled Let Me In on Monday June 12, 2023. This song is a pre-release for their latest album EXIST which will be released on July 10, 2023. EXO-L (the name for fans) will definitely immediately catch a familiar feeling when watching the Let Me In MV. Visual MV Let Me In follows the sad and melancholy impression that EXO plays in the song.
SM Entertainment through their official release described this song as a dreamy ballad with the members' very strong vocals. "The lyrics of this song describe a lover like the blue sea, and convey a deep desire to continue to be together without stopping even though they fall very deep," wrote the management in the lyrics of the song.
The scenes shown in the MV present an interesting story typical of EXO. Stories and visuals that intrigue fans to theorize, just like what SM Entertainment did for Pathcode teasers in 2015 when EXO released the album EXODUS. The difference is, Let Me In is like combining all of Pathcode's short videos into one complete video clip that lasts almost 4 minutes.
Each member is involved in a different situation that is indirectly connected to one another. It opens with a boy throwing a rock into a lake which ends in a disaster at various different points. For observant fans, you will definitely find a connection between the Let Me In MV and the videos on Pathcode to some of EXO's previous MVs.
For example, the scene of Chanyeol picking up boulders in the MV is exactly like the scene in the What Is Love MV (and Chanyeol's introductory teaser at debut), For Life to Miracles in December, which both feature the question of 'time'. Let Me In is a pre-release song for EXIST which was written by Enzo, Hassan Ashi Jr., Nautboi Rich, Jayden Henry, Je'Juan Antonio, Jordain Johnson, Kaelin Ellis, Kelsey Merges, and Noah Barer.
The song was produced by Noah Barer and Kaelin Ellis. The other eight tracks on the new EXIST album will be announced by SM Entertainment in the coming weeks. The release of photo teasers to videos for the EXIST album will also follow after the Let Me In MV. Watch the EXO's Let Me In MV via SMTOWN Official YouTube Channel.
