Korean actress Kim Sae Ron was declared dead after attempting suicide on Sunday February 16, 2025. Amidst the mourning atmosphere, insiders in the South Korean film industry announced plans to release the film 'Everyday We Are' starring the late Kim Sae Ron this year.

The webtoon adaptation had been delayed for the past few years due to Kim Sae Ron's drunk driving case which resulted in cancel culture. The release plan for Kim Sae Ron's final film, Everyday We Are, was announced to coincide with her funeral, Wednesday February 19, 2025.

The news immediately drew criticism from netizens and fans. According to South Korean media, TV Report, Kim Sae Ron has completed filming the film Everyday We Are with Lee Chae Min since 2021. Not only released in film format, 'Everyday We Are' is also made as a drama with 7 episodes.

Previously, rumors circulated that Kim Sae Ron had left the production of the film 'Everyday We Are' due to cancel culture. She caused a single accident while drunk driving on Wednesday May 18, 2022 and damaged several public facilities such as roadside fences, trees, and transformers.

As a form of accountability, Kim Sae Ron paid a fine of 20 million won. Not only that, he also paid compensation money as a form of compensation to 57 shop owners in the area. Director Kim Min Jae who worked on the film and drama production 'Everyday We Are' also expressed his condolences to Kim Sae Ron.

He regretted the passing of the beautiful actress at the age of 24. "Actress Kim Sae Ron was an actress who was born with natural talent. She had an amazing ability to understand and express her characters. Her passing is a shame because she was an actress who would have developed further in the future," said Kim Min Jae, as reported by TV Report.

Adapted from a webtoon, the film 'Everyday We Are' showcases the chemistry of Kim Sae Ron and Lee Chae Min as high school students. The storyline follows the friendship of Han Yeoul (played by Kim Sae Ron) and Oh Hosu (played by Lee Chae Min) who have loved playing basketball together since childhood.

However, their friendship starts to feel awkward after Hosu confesses his feelings for Yeoul. Instead of being enthusiastic, netizens and Kim Sae Ron fans criticized the production team of the film 'Everyday We Are' who were considered to be seeking personal gain.

Its screening was postponed for four years, even planned to air after Kim Sae Ron died. "The people behind this project are really evil, Saeron has died and it's only been aired even though it was completed in 2021, It's obvious that they want to profit from other people's sorrow," commented a fan on Twitter.

"Don't air it. When it's the person's turn, why would you air it? It doesn't help anything, it doesn't change anything," said a fan. "The person has already died and then it's shown, where were they when they were still alive, but maybe to remember," wrote another netizen after hearing the plan to show Kim Sae Ron's last film.
