SEVENTEEN's Dino will be making his solo debut with his first mini-album titled 'Gilboard' as his alter ego Pi Cheolin. Although this character is widely known in variety content, fans expressed their disappointment that the album does not showcase Dino's true self as a singer.

Dino's explanation for this decision has sparked further debate among fans. In a clip shared by a fan, Dino explained that the suggestion to release an album as Pi Cheolin came from his agency, Pledis Entertainment.

"I received the suggestion for this album from the company. At first, I also thought, 'Huh? Pi Cheolin? Really?' I think I thought about it for six months," Dino revealed. He continued by saying that he simulated in his mind what he would look like if he came out as Pi Cheolin.

Fan backlash intensified after the clip surfaced on social media, with many feeling that the controversial concept wasn't Dino's own initiative, but rather a forced decision by his agency.

Many fans were disappointed that the highly anticipated album emphasized Pi Cheolin's comedic persona over Dino's true musical talent and identity. "I knew this was coming when I saw the company cut off the idea of a member even wanting to go solo.

Those comments are truly hurtful. I hope they feel the same way within their own fandom," wrote one fan. This disappointment reflects the hopes of many fans who wanted Dino's first solo album to be a work of art that showcased his abilities and creativity as a singer.

Fans also expressed concerns that, as an artist with 12 years of experience, Dino's solo debut should have been a platform to showcase his true self. However, by focusing on Pi Cheolin, some felt that his long-standing character was actually limiting his artistic expression.

Furthermore, many fans hoped that this album would still offer a fresh new feel while still honoring Dino's career journey as a member of SEVENTEEN. Despite the criticism, fans still showed their support and looked forward to seeing how Dino would portray the character of Pi Cheolin in his solo debut.

In this situation, Pledis Entertainment will face the challenge of ensuring that their decisions are not only commercially beneficial but also satisfy the fans who have supported Dino for years. Fans hope that with every step they take, Dino's voice and desires as an artist will be given greater consideration in the future.
