PLAVE will be making a comeback with a new album towards the end of this year. Their fifth EP, HYPERDRIVE, is scheduled for release on October 12th and is poised to enter the Melon Top 100 chart ! PLAVE's track record on South Korea's main domestic chart, the Melon Top 100, is undeniable.
Every release by this virtual group from VLAST consistently tops the chart, a staple for local musicians. When the album ASTERUM: 134-1 (2024) was released, for example, all the tracklists on the album entered the Melon Top 100 chart.
The same thing happened with the release of Caligo Pt. 1 which followed a year earlier. The single "Borrow Your Night," the soundtrack for the film "Even if This Love Disappears Tonight" (2025), remains in the Melon top 100 as of Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
The song holds strong at #73 amidst a flurry of new songs throughout the month. Now, regarding HYPERDRIVE, this album comes six months after Caligo Pt. 2, which was released earlier this year. Like its predecessor, songs like "HMPH!" and "Lunar Hearts" also charted on Melon in the first quarter of 2026.
Through HYPERDRIVE, PLAVE will maintain the quality of human-made music, even though it's performed through virtual avatars. The members actively produce music and even collaborate with real-life choreographers.
PLAVE carries a racer concept in the album OVERDRIVE. Members: Yejun, Noah, Bamby, Eunho, and Hamin appear with F1 racer styles in their latest photos. The release of HYPERDRIVE will also be PLAVE's momentum to break into the US music scene.
Following its debut on the Billboard 200, the album will be directly promoted with the 2026 PLAVE World Tour [KEEP IT MANIC] concert at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium this coming November 2026. The physical version of HYPERDRIVE will be released on October 13th, the day after the digital version is available on streaming platforms.
