GMA Network has announced that their second free-to-air television channel, GMA News TV, will be rebranded to GTV on February 22. The announcement was made on the network’s flagship news broadcast 24 Oras on Friday.

The new channel will continue to air programs by GMA News and Public Affairs, just like its predecessor, such as Dobol B TV, Balitanghali, State of the Nation, GMA Regional TV Weekend News, Brigada, and 24 Oras.

Other News TV programs, such as Brigada, Good News kasama si Vicky Morales, and iJuander, will also air on the new channel. However, GMA News TV’s on-the-spot bulletin Quick Response Team, which was anchored by Emil Sumangil, aired its last show in January. The weekend version of 24 Oras will also no longer air on the channel.

The drama series The Lost Recipe, starring Mikee Quintos and Kelvin Miranda, will be airing on the new channel, along with My Fantastic Pag-Ibig, Game of the Genes, among others. Sports fans will also be able to watch the (NCAA) National Collegiate Athletic Association games.

GTV will be available on free-to-air channel 27, as well as cable, satellite and other digital TV providers, and on the GMA Affordabox. Its programs will also be available abroad through GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and GMA News TV International.
