Xiaomi has announced it will launch the first Redmi TV in India on March 17. The announcement comes shortly after Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain teased the arrival of Redmi TVs at the Redmi Note 10 series launch.
The first Redmi TV made its debut in March last year. It has since launched a series of Redmi TVs including Redmi Smart TV X50, Redmi Smart TV X55, Redmi Smart TV X65, Redmi Smart TV A series and Redmi Smart TV A65. The most recent launch was the Redmi Max UHD TV with an 86-inch display.
The Smart TV is powered by a quad-core CPU paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. On the software front, the smart TV runs MIUI TV 3.0. Redmi TVs launched in India will most likely run Xiaomi’s PatchWall OS. There’s no word on which Redmi TV model Xiaomi plans to bring in India but considering the “XL” teaser, we can expect a large-screened one.
Priced at CNY 7,999 ( ₹91,000 approx), the Xiaomi Redmi Max 86-inch UHD TV features an LED-backlit screen with HDR support, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has support for Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD and has a sound output of 25W.
