Chinese tech company Vivo has announced a new mid-range smartphone in Taiwan, called Vivo Y55 5G. Last month, the brand launched Vivo Y55s with the similar specs, only difference is rear camera and battery if we compare to the Vivo Y55. The new handset comes with a 50MP triple camera setup on the rear, a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, and a 5,000mAh battery.

The Vivo Y55 5G has an LCD penal which size is 6.58-inch. The display carries a 1080 x 2408 pixels resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. On the chipset, it is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC and paired with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM. It comes with 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage that is further expandable via a microSD card. As for the size and weighs, it measures 165 x 75.84 x 8.25mm and weighs around 187 grams.

The Vivo Y55 5G has arrived with a triple camera setup on the backside that houses a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 lens, a 2MP secondary wide-angle sensor with an f/2.4 lens, and a 2MP macro sensor with an f/2.4 lens. For the front, the smartphone gets an 8MP camera with an f/1.8 lens for selfies and video calls. Connectivity functions are 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.1, USB Type-C port, GPS, FM radio, and NFC. 

Users get a 5,000mAh battery on the Vivo Y55 5G that supports 18W fast charging technology. The smartphone brings a side-mounted fingerprint sensor clubbed with the power button. The company has installed Android 11 OS out of the box with the FunTouchOS 12 skin on the top. Onboard sensors are a gravity sensor, light sensor, distance sensing, electronic compass, and gyro. 

As for official pricing and availability, the Vivo Y55 5G has been launched in Taiwan that carries a price tag of NTD 7,990 for the single 4GB RAM with 128GB internal storage variant. The smartphone comes in two color options, i.e. Xingyao Black, and Galaxy Blue. For now, international availability details are not known.
