BTS has become an unbeatable group, aka overpowered/OP, in the music scene. Not long after announcing their incredible streaming total for their album Arirang on Spotify , they've now broken another record.

BIGHIT MUSIC announced on Friday (October 16, 2026) that the SWIM singers have become the first group in history to reach 10 billion streams in a single year.

Previously, similar records had been set by world-renowned solo artists, including Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Bad Bunny. But BTS is the first group to achieve this feat.

According to the Korea JoongAng Daily on Friday (October 16, 2026), BTS's streaming numbers on Spotify skyrocketed 122 percent from last year. In 2025, when the members were on hiatus for military service, their streaming numbers were "only" 4.5 billion.

The majority of BTS's music streams on Spotify this year came from Arirang. Released on March 20, 2026, the album has been streamed over 5 billion times since its release on the platform.

BTS beat out the latest albums by Olivia Rodrigo, Bruno Mars, and Harry Styles to become the most streamed artist of 2026. The title track of their album, "SWIM," was the most streamed song, with over 1 billion streams, according to the latest data.

Meanwhile, the other 14 tracks on Arirang have each surpassed 200-300 million streams, including track No. 29, which features only the sound of the Great Bell of King Seongdeok of the Silla Dynasty.

Last September 2026, BTS won three awards at the MTV Video Music Awards for their album, Arirang. They won the Song of the Year award for their song, SWIM.

BTS's second win at the 2026 MTV VMAs came in the Best K-Pop category. Here, they beat several HYBE Labels artists, including Cortis, LE SSERAFIM, and KATSEYE.

Lastly, BTS also won the Best Group social category. BTS beat BLACKPINK and Cortis in the K-Pop scene; as well as several other big names including FLO, Fuerza Regida, Geese, KATSEYE, and Twenty One Pilots.
