Motorola has finally confirmed the launch date for the Moto G22 in India. The smartphone will be launched on April 8 at 12pm via e-commerce platform store Flipkart. To recall, the device was announced in Europe last month. It offers a 90Hz display, a MediaTek Helio G37 chipset, a 50MP primary camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 20W fast charging.

The Motorola Moto G22 was recently introduced as the successor to the Moto G20. Now, the company is all set to launch it in India as a budget category smartphone for users who need decent hardware and modern features at an affordable cost. In India, the Moto G22 will compete against entry-level handsets from rivals such as Xiaomi, Vivo, and Samsung.

The Motorola Moto G22 bears a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone features a punch-hole cut-out design with prominent bezels, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a quad rear camera setup. The device has a plastic body and water-resistant build quality. 

In terms of optics, the Motorola Moto G22 packs a quad rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP (f/1.8) main sensor, an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide camera, a 2MP (f/2.4) macro lens, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. On the front panel, there is a 16MP (f/2.5) shooter for selfies and video calls. It has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 20W fast charging.

Under the hood, the Motorola Moto G22 is fueled by a MediaTek Helio G37 processor and runs on Android 12 OS out of the box with My UX on top. The smartphone will be available in a sole 4GB/64GB variant, with expandable storage of up to 1TB via a micro-SD card slot. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and a Type-C port.

For official pricing and availability in Europe, the Motorola Moto G22 costs €170 (nearly Rs. 14,000) for its sole 4GB/64GB model. In India, the smartphone will be priced under Rs. 15,000. The handset should comes in Pearl White, Iceberg Blue, Cosmic Black, and  Mint Green colour options.
