South Korean tech giant, Samsung has introduced a new mid-ranger smartphone in the Indian market, called the Galaxy A33 5G. As for the key highlights, it has a 90Hz AMOLED display, an Exynos 1280 SoCa 48MP quad rear camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W charging. The smartphone starts at Rs. 28,499 for the 6GB/128GB base variant.
Samsung is actively working on expanding its portfolio of mid-range 5G devices. The newly introduced A33 5G is the successor to the A32 5G that was launched last year 2021. With new A-series series handsets such as the A33, A53, and A73, Samsung aims to take on growing competition from rivals such as OnePlus, OPPO, and Xiaomi.
The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G features a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The handset also gets Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the display. The smartphone has a waterdrop notch design with slim bezels, a plastic body, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is available for purchase in four different color options.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G is fueled by an Exynos 1280 processor and runs on Android 12 OS with One UI 4.1 on top. It ships with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and houses a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W fast-charging. Connectivity options on the smartphone include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, 5G, and a Type-C port.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G comes with a quad rear camera setup comprising a 48MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens, a 5MP (f/2.4) macro snapper, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. The smartphone also gets a single 13MP (f/2.2) front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The rear snapper supports 4K recording at 30fps, while the front camera can record 1080p videos at 30fps.
For official pricing and availability, the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G has arrived in India in two variants. The 6GB/128GB model is priced at Rs. 28,499 while the 8GB/128GB option costs Rs. 29,999. The smartphone can be bought through Samsung India's online store and buyers can avail Rs. 1,500 discount on SBI credit card EMI transactions as well as ICICI Bank credit/debit cards transactions (full payment and EMI).
