Samsung has introduced another mid-range device, called the Galaxy A73 5G, in the Indian market. As for the key highlights, the smartphone has a 120Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 778G chipset, a 108MP quad camera setup on the rear, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast-charging. The newly-launched handset carries a starting price of Rs. 41,999 for the 8GB/128GB base variant.
Samsung is busy expanding its portfolio of A-series and M-series mid-range devices in India to take on growing competition from rivals like OnePlus, Vivo, and Xiaomi. The Galaxy A73 5G is the most costly A-series smartphone in India and it rivals some popular 'flagship killer' handsets such as the Mi 11T Pro 5G and OnePlus 9RT 5G around the Rs. 40,000 price-point.
The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G bears a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone features a punch-hole cut-out with slim bezels, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and an IP67-rated build quality. On the rear, it sports a rectangular quad camera unit.
In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G features a quad rear camera setup with a 108MP (f/1.8, OIS) primary sensor, a 12MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens, a 5MP (f/2.4) macro snapper, and a 5MP (f/2.4) depth sensor with LED flash. On the front, it has a 32MP (f/2.2) selfie camera. Both the front and rear cameras support 4K recording at 30fps.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 778G chipset and runs on Android 12-based One UI 4.1. The device offers 8GB of RAM, paired with up to 256GB of storage (expandable up to 1TB). It packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W wired fast-charging. Connectivity options on the smartphone include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 5G, and a Type-C port.
For pricing and availability, the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G costs Rs. 41,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant and Rs. 44,999 for the 8GB/256GB model. It is offered in Awesome Mint, Awesome Gray, and Awesome White color options. The handset is currently available for pre-booking at a token amount of Rs. 1,999. Those who pre-reserve can buy the Galaxy Buds Live worth Rs. 6,999 for a discounted price of just Rs. 499. The availability details are yet to be announced.
