BTS's Jungkook used car sold for Rp. 14.4 billion in an auction. As a worldwide Kpop idol, BTS's Jungkook is known to collect luxury cars. He once drove a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon AMG G63 Edition SUV. Reporting from Sports Chosun, the SUV was purchased by Jungkook BTS in September 2019 under his own name.
He drove it for more than two years before handing it over to a collector in March 2021. But the collector decided to auction off Jungkook BTS's used car. On Tuesday December 13, 2022, the South Korean open auction market, Blacklot, also announced that Jungkook BTS's car had been sold with the last bid being 1.2 billion won or Rp. 14.4 billion.
The bidding figures were obtained when the auction closed at 18.00 KST. The price of BTS's Jungkook used car even became the highest figure in the history of auctions conducted by Blacklot, an open auction platform that offers rare items. Jungkook BTS 's used car has actually been auctioned since last month.
However, the auction was stopped early due to the large number of bids coming from foreigners who could not be confirmed. The auction of BTS's Jungkook Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon AMG G63 Edition finally resumed on December 6. Where bidders must pay a deposit of 5 million won or Rp. 60 million.
Blacklot also prohibits minors and foreigners from participating in the auction. Meanwhile, the identity of the bidder who won the BTS's Jungkook car was kept secret by Blacklot. He has to pay IDR 1.2 billion with an additional purchase fee (3.3%) and shipping of 200,000 won or IDR 2.4 million.
All costs related to the acquisition of BTS's Jungkook used cars such as taxes, vehicle registration, and insurance must also be borne by the bidder who wins the car. The price of the new Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon AMG G63 Edition SUV is known to be worth around 230 million won or Rp. 2.7 billion. But Jungkook BTS used cars with the same edition can be sold many times over.
