EXO's Kai will hold a free fan meeting. Quoted from the Naver page Thursday, May 4, 2023, SM Entertainment as EXO's agency officially announced the news about Kai EXO's fan meeting in the official fan community. According to the official announcement, the event will be held at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul on May 9, 2023, at 7:00 pm local time.

This fan meeting was held just 2 days before Kai officially carried out his military service. Due to the fan meeting being suddenly scheduled and the meeting hall being small to accommodate the large number of fans, SM Entertainment also announced, "Because the meeting hall is a small space, only members of the official paid fan club (EXO-L Ace 3, Ace 2) are allowed to attend.

" Can register first and the free fan club will follow later." SM Entertainment added, "This is a place prepared for people who love Kai to gather together, so please understand despite the many shortcomings." For fans who cannot attend the event, they can also watch the fan meeting which is broadcast live on EXO's official YouTube channel.

Previously on May 3, 2023, SM Entertainment made a sudden announcement regarding EXO's Kai military enlistment schedule. SM Entertainment announced on the fan platform, "Kai will enlist at the Army Training Center on the 11th and receive basic military training, then serve as a social worker."

This surprised fans a lot, because it was known that Kai was preparing for activities with his group EXO this year. However, he entered military service due to changes in the conditions of enlistment from the Military Manpower Administration. The sudden military enlistment gave rise to various rumors among netizens.

Some say that Kai became the scapegoat as part of 'gaining military discipline' in the recent controversy over 'celebrity avoidance of military service'. Meanwhile, Kai is a member of the group EXO which debuted in 2012. Kai started his solo career in 2020 by releasing his first mini album 'KAI'. In March this year, he released his third mini album 'Rover' with the title song 'Rover' of the same name as the album.
