Nam Tae Hyun was reported on charges of using illegal drugs. An arrest warrant will also be issued to arrest the former WINNER boy group member. Reporting from Allkpop May 17, 2023, the Yongsan police station in Seoul filed arrest warrants for Nam Tae Hyun and his girlfriend, Seo Min Jae, on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
On May 18, 2023, at around 10.30 local time, the court will interrogate Nam Tae Hyun and Seo Min Jae before making an arrest. The police suspect that the two of them may have lost evidence. Suspicions started when Seo Min Jae uploaded a post on his SNS which revealed that he and Nam Tae Hyun used methamphetamine in August last year.
At that time, Seo Min Jae revealed that he was in a relationship with Nam Tae Hyun and uploaded a post saying, " Nam Tae Hyun and I are drug addicts . There is a syringe stored in the cabinet. " However, a few moments later, he deleted the upload and clarified that what he wrote was not true.
" I had a fight with my boyfriend (Nam Tae Hyun) and I took drugs because I was very stressed and in an unconscious state. That's why I uploaded posts that have nothing to do with the facts," Seo Min Jae wrote in his post. Responding to his lover's upload, Nam Tae Hyun also uploaded an apology on Instagram.
" I apologize to everyone who was surprised at yesterday's situation. Although there was a conflict between the couple, we have made up. I sincerely apologize for causing concern to so many people because of personal matters," wrote Nam Tae Hyun .
Despite providing this clarification, Nam Tae Hyun did not say anything regarding the alleged abuse of narcotics. Prior to this case, on March 23, Nam Tae Hyun was taken to the prosecution on charges of violating the Traffic Act. On March 8, Nam Tae Hyun was involved in a collision with a taxi when he opened the door of his car while drunk on a side street in Gangnam, Seoul.
