BTS's Jin has once again stolen the public's attention with a dramatic visual transformation for his latest solo album titled ' Echo.' Previously known for his cheerful and colorful concept in his 2024 solo debut with the album 'HAPPY,' this time Jin appears with a much darker and edgier nuance, carrying a strong vintage rock style.

This change immediately became a hot topic among ARMY and K-Pop music fans around the world. On April 21, 2025, BIGHIT MUSIC released the first set of concept photos for 'Echo,' followed by the second set on April 23, 2025 at midnight KST via BTS's official SNS accounts.

Reported by India Times on Wednesday April 23, 2025, this latest visual shows Jin with long black hair, complete with striking color highlights on the bangs. He also wears black and blue nail polish, and scar makeup on his face that adds to the mysterious impression.

Not only that, he was seen wearing a leather jacket, various silver accessories, and a small tattoo that reads "Breaking apart" on his hand. All these elements seem to confirm: this is Jin's rockstar era. The visual concept this time is a far cry from the clean and minimalist impression he previously displayed.

As K-en News reports , the setting of the latest photo is also far from glamorous—it is set in a graffiti-covered alleyway that adds to the raw and “naughty” feel. Jin has completely ditched his clean-cut image and fully embraced a new persona that is intense and full of character.

Namaste Hallyu stated that Jin looked like he had stepped out of the heyday of classic rock. He was photographed next to a vintage car, wearing ripped jeans and a Rolling Stones t-shirt, showing a strong retro inspiration. This style is not only a visual change, but also a sign that Jin is exploring a new, deeper and more introspective musical direction.

The album is said to explore everyday emotions with a personal approach, full of irony, and Jin's signature honesty. It's no wonder that ARMY is excited about this change. On social media, many have compared Jin in the 'Echo' era to his "evil twin" in the 'HAPPY' era.

Some even joked that Jin looked like he had a broken heart and then dyed his hair and changed completely. The album 'Echo' is scheduled to be released on May 16, 2025 at 1 p.m. KST, as quoted from Soompi on Wednesday April 23, 2025.

The title track, 'Don't Say You Love Me,' is said to address the complicated theme of surviving a broken relationship just because of love. It reflects an emotional and complex side of Jin that has not been explored much in his solo work.

In addition to his album teasers, Jin also recently surprised fans with a special appearance at Coldplay's concert titled 'LIVE NATION PRESENTS COLDPLAY: MUSIC OF THE SPHERES DELIVERED BY DHL' on April 19, 2025 at Goyang Sports Complex.

He took to the stage with Chris Martin and performed his first solo single, 'The Astronaut,' as well as 'My Universe,' which again showcased the incredible chemistry between Jin and Coldplay.

With anticipation continuing to mount ahead of the release of 'Echo,' fans are looking forward to what else Jin will bring in this new era. If the photo concept and theme so far are any indication, then Jin's musical journey into the world of rock is shaping up to be one of the most exciting solo releases from a BTS member yet.
