South Korean actor, Yoo Ah In was threatened with forced arrest by the police because he did not come to fulfill the second police summons to investigate a drug abuse case . His absence was due to the large number of journalists who flocked to the place where the actor had to go.
Quoting KBIZoom, at around 9 am on May 16, 2023, Yoo Ah In appeared at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Drug Crime Investigation Unit in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Appearing in an all-black suit with a lawyer, Yoo Ah In was seen nervously entering the building while in a hurry. Reporters who bombarded him with all kinds of questions only got one answer from the drama star Chicago Typewriter.
"I will cooperate sincerely in the investigation," Yoo Ah In told reporters. The 36-year-old actor's words seemed to be telling the masses that he was absolutely not going to run away and avoid police investigations. Regarding his schedule, which was supposed to appear before the police on May 11, 2023, it was not something that was intentional.
Yoo Ah In had gone to the police station but returned home because he saw reporters flocking to the place. This actually made Yoo Ah In receive arrest threats as said by the head of the National Investigation Division of the National Police Agency Woo Jong Soo through a press conference on May 15, 2023.
"Yoo Ah In's side is very sensitive about the date and time of the summons. It would be best if he coordinated with the attendance date as soon as possible. If that is not possible, of course, we will have to consider such steps, including arrest or applying for arrest warrants," said the head of the investigation division.
Yoo Ah In's appearance at the second police call was enough to make netizens feel relieved. At least the actor will be able to fix the problem he himself caused as quickly as possible. However, Yoo Ah In is an actor whose acting skills are undeniably professional. The actor with the birth name Uhm Hong-sik has had a career in the entertainment world since 2003.
