Stray Kids once again showed their concern for society by making a large donation to victims of the forest fires in South Korea. On April 1, 2025, JYP Entertainment announced that the group had donated a total of 800 million won to help residents affected by the fires in Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam.
A total of 400 million won was distributed to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, while another 400 million won was given to the social organization World Vision. The donation will be used to provide emergency needs, financial assistance for affected residents, and support firefighters on duty at disaster sites.
Through their agency, Stray Kids expressed their concern for the victims. " We deeply empathize with those who lost their daily lives in an instant. We also want to express our gratitude to everyone who has worked hard in the field, " said the group's representative, quoted from Allkpop on Tuesday April 1, 2025.
Quoted from KStarTrend on the same Tuesday, this is not the first time Stray Kids has been involved in charity work. The group has long contributed to various social actions, both individually and in groups. Since 2014, they have participated in international child sponsorship programs.
In 2020, they began providing regular personal assistance and are also active in feeding programs for underprivileged communities in Korea. Stray Kids has also played a role in various global disaster relief efforts, including donations to earthquake victims in Syria and Türkiye in 2023 and aid for the global food crisis in 2024.
Recently, several members of the group celebrated their birthday by donating 100 million won as a form of gratitude for the love they received from fans. In their statement, Stray Kids added, " We hope that this assistance can ease the burden of those affected by the fire.
We want to share positive energy and hope with everyone who is going through this difficult time. " Meanwhile, Stray Kids is currently in the middle of their biggest world tour, 'Stray Kids World Tour [dominATE]'. On March 27-28, 2025, they restarted their tour in Santiago, Chile, and will continue with a solo concert in Rio de Janeiro on April 1 (local time).
The tour will take them to 34 cities in Latin America, Japan, North America and Europe, with a total of 55 shows through the end of July. In this concert, Stray Kids will also present their first live stage for their newest song, 'Mixtape: dominATE' which has been awaited by fans.
The single includes the Korean version of the song 'GIANT', as well as several unit songs, including 'Burnin' Tires' sung by Changbin and I.N, 'Truman' by Han and Felix, 'ESCAPE' by Bang Chan and Hyunjin, and 'CINEMA' by Lee Know and Seungmin.
With their amazing stage performances and their concern for the community, Stray Kids continues to prove that they are not only successful in the music world, but also have a big heart to help others.
Their large donation to the victims of the South Korean fires further underlines their commitment to using their positive influence for good. By continuing to balance success in the entertainment industry and social contribution, Stray Kids is a living example to many of how an artist can contribute to society at large.
